Testimonials

Since the moment I became an AmCham member in 1986 I have looked to the organization as a source of information, networking, and support. AmCham has not only never let me down, it has consistently come through with above-and-beyond service, enthusiasm and true concern for the issues and challenges facing those of us who do business internationally in general and in France in particular. Through the years, participation in various AmCham Task Forces has been an especially enlightening and enjoyable experience. I highly encourage anyone doing business in or with France to take advantage of the all that AmCham membership has to offer.

Shari Leslie Segall, Foreign Affairs consultant (member since 1986)

AmCham France has privileged relations with the U.S. Embassy and its corps of high-level diplomats, right up to the Ambassador. Access to these officials is a top priority for Cisco. And AmCham France gets through to them faster and more effectively than we could on our own. The embassy recognizes — and hears — the voice of AmCham France without any interference. The message gets through, even if it isn’t necessarily identified as being part of our corporate communications. We appreciate having our voice heard, especially if our name isn’t attached to the message. The messenger gets heard more easily if the message goes through AmCham France. AmCham is essential to us, as it should be to any subsidiary in France of a U.S. company.

Yvon Le Roux, Vice President public Sector European Markets, Cisco (member since 1997)

The European Union’s directives can affect employment and operations here in France. It’s important for us to have a voice at the EU table, and AmCham France helps us do this through our participation in the European Council of AmChams (ECACC) and by our collaboration with AmCham EU, a powerful lobbying organization. EU directives have an important impact on all U.S. firms in Europe, and through AmCham France and its network, we project our voice at a European level. Just to name examples that affect all of us, the services directive, data privacy, and REACH are EU issues that ECACC addresses. They affect manufacturers, as well as service-providers. We applaud all the efforts that AmCham, whether in France or elsewhere in Europe, can make to ensure our business

-Michelle O’Neill (US Deputy Under Secretary for International Trade)
-Constance Morella (US Ambassador at OECD)
-David Gross (US Ambassador for International Communications and Information Policy)

Tam PHAM, former President, AT&T France (member since 1988)
