Paris is a city that represents a million different things to a million different people. Known as the City of Light, it is beloved by world travellers for its eighteenth-century streets that look as if they were lifted straight from a fairy tale, its fashion design which sparks global style trends, its plentiful museums which house unparalleled collections of art, or its restaurants which are the stuff of culinary legend. Paris probably has more familiar landmarks than any other city in the world, including the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, and the Arc de Triomphe. First-time visitors will naturally want to visit these monuments. However, another approach to Paris is to explore its avenues and backstreets.
Our travel section can serve as an introduction, but please also check the many other web-sites about Paris, for example: ParisFrance, which lists everything and anything to do in Paris, including restaurants, activities, lodging, maps, and more.
