    In a context of global economic downturn, environmental challenges and social issues, our economic models are questioned. All stakeholders, governments, international organizations, business and civil society, have already realized that it is time to find new growth drivers. This growth should be « green », currently called Green Growth. According to the OECD, it « is generally defined as a means to create jobs and economic growth while reducing costs and environmental impacts over the long run ».

    Mr. Goodspeed has served for over 30 years in the U.S. Foreign Service in a wide variety of positions concerning consular, political and economic issues. He comes to France from Pakistan, where he was the Consul General at the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad. Previous assignments include Director of Fraud Prevention Programs in the Bureau of Consular Affairs at the State Department, Consul General at the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and Chief of the Visa Unit here at the U.S. Embassy in Paris. He has also served as a Deputy Political Advisor at the U.S. Mission to NATO, as Political/Economic Chief at the U.S. Embassy in Muscat, Oman, and in other positions in Iraq, Jordan, Egypt and Tunisia.
