  • Why Michigan is the Place to do Business in North America in the 21st Century

    October 14 2010, 01:00 - 01:00
    Location: AmCham France

The Honorable Jennifer M. Granholm, Governor of the State of Michigan, spoke about why "Michigan is the place to do business in the 21st century" at AmCham France headquarters in front of a select audience of AmCham members and invited guests.

As her gubernatorial terms come to an end, Governor Granholm shared with the audience the recent advances Michigan has made in sectors such as clean energy, life sciences and advanced manufacturing. Michigan is now a leader in clean energy manufacturing, especially advanced batteries for electric vehicles, and its Centers of Energy Excellence bring together companies, academic institutions and the state to support cutting-edge research and development in new clean energy technologies.
Providing Michigan children with a world-class education so they can compete in a global economy is another Granholm priority, and her administration also created a nationally-recognized job training program that equips workers with the skills being sought by employers
