• Trans-Atlantic Economic Council and the upcoming EU Presidency of France

    Mr. De Falco will speak about the Trans-Atlantic Economic Council (the TEC- “Merkel initiative”) and the upcoming EU Presidency of France.  He will just have returned from Brussels and focus in particular on practical business subjects related to the TEC such as:

    •IP Protection and enforcement.
    •Global patent harmonization.
    •The trans-Atlantic dialogue on market access.
    •Innovation and technology developments in areas such as standards, radio frequency identification device deployment, and renewable energy expert exchanges.

    David De Falco took over the portfolio of the Director for the Office of the European Union in the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration in 2006.  He is responsible for developing and implementing U.S. Government economic and trade policies that will improve the commercial relationship between the United States and the European Union and maintain U.S. company market access. 

    A lawyer by training, Mr De Falco has also worked for Fiat as a trade consultant, and in the Legal Department of the Inter-American Investment Corporation, and the World Bank’s Economic Advisory and Private Sector Development Department.
