• Remuneration of Executives Moving Across Borders

    June 08 2012, 01:00 - 01:00
Location: AmCham France - 77 rue de Miromesnil, 75008 Paris

The Taxation Task Force in two earlier meetings addressed various French and US tax issues arising when executives moving between France and the US receive part of their remuneration in the form of stock incentive plans. Stock options continue to be a concern for persons working for AmCham members as well as other major multinational corporations. In response to requests received, the Chairman of the Taxation Task Force of the American Chamber of Commerce is pleased to invite you to another follow-up breakfast roundtable specifically addressing the remuneration of executives with stock options.
This breakfast meeting will focus on various ways in which executives holding stock options may dispose of all or part of their stock options, including extracting cash from stock options, to maximize the economic benefit that can be obtained. Advantages to certain strategies from an economic perspective will be examined, and tax implications of the different transactions will be considered.
Among the topics to be discussed are :

    • Various ways to finance the exercise of the option
    • Strategies to extract cash while limiting risk
    • Strategic gifting to family members

Matthieu Le Goff and Houman Pakneshan, of Banque Degroof will present the different strategies for using stock options for creating and preserving wealth.
Colin Bernier, Ernst & Young Avocats, will address tax implications of such strategies.
