Investment Financing Opportunities in Emerging Markets and Developing Countries

Thomas Pellerin, Consultant, International Finance Corporation (IFC)
Gilles Garcia, Manager, Enterprise Outreach Services, World Bank
Louis Bedoucha, Senior Business Development Officer, Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA)

The World Bank provides financial and technical assistance to developing countries around the world through the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the International Development Association (IDA).  The IBRD aims to reduce poverty in middle-income and creditworthy poorer countries, while IDA focuses on the world's poorest countries.  Their work is complemented by that of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA).  Together they provide low-interest loans, interest-free credits and grants, or political risk insurance to developing countries for investments in education, health, public administration, infrastructure, financial and private sector development, agriculture, and environmental and natural resource management.  Our speakers will discuss how the World Bank Group can help finance the investments in the developing world of medium and large companies based in the U.S. or Europe.

This event is free and only open to AmCham Members.
