Two senior FBI Agents will be presenting a briefing regarding Economic Espionage and Insider Threat Issues. The presentation focuses on a case the FBI successfully prosecuted in 2012 and a substantive discussion of economic espionage and the insider threat. Cyber issues, as intertwined with economic espionage and insider threats, will also be discussed.

The Company Man was produced by the FBI’s Counterintelligence Division to help raise awareness in the private sector about the threat posed to the U.S. economy by Economic Espionage and Theft of Trade Secrets.

The Company Man is based on a very recent FBI investigation from 2012 which involved a targeted mid-size U.S. company.  The successful investigation ended with the conviction of two Chinese nationals who attempted to bribe an informant to provide trade secrets in violation of federal law.
