• Class Action Lawsuits presented by the Legal Affairs Task Force

    October 13 2008, 18:45 - 18:45
Location: DLA Piper, 12 rue de la Paix 75002 Paris

Class action lawsuits have been a problematic aspect of the US corporate landscape for some time.  There are ongoing efforts to introduce them to France and Europe.  While some lawyers might profit and consumer groups are lobbying in favor, corporate councils and CEOs worry about the effects on their business.  Join us for a roundtable discussion with Seth Goldschlager, Lisa Rickard, and Scevole de Cazotte from the US Chamber of Commerce, who will discuss how the private sector can better respond to these developments at the national and EU levels.
Please see the attached article by AmCham President, Jean-Claude Gruffat, for background.  This is your chance to contribute to the debate - don't miss it.  The roundtable will be followed by a planning meeting of the Legal Affairs Task Force, whose next two sessions will be with the Commission Darrois, and experts comparing the supreme court systems in the US and France.
