• Changing Tax Administration in Changing Times

    The Chairman of the Taxation Task Force of the American Chamber of Commerce in Paris is pleased to invite you to a breakfast roundtable to discuss the current and evolving developments in the strategies of tax administration by the Internal Revenue Service and the French Direction Générale des Impôts with respect to medium to large enterprises in the international context.

    Changing Tax Administration in Changing Times

    The focus of the discussion will be on the changing relationship between the tax administration and the taxpayer, including discussion of the following topics:
    -how the tax administration structures its operations to ensure tax compliance among corporate taxpayers;
    -the changing strategy of the tax administration in deciding who, why and when to conduct tax audits;
    -the importance of risk analysis in choosing companies to audit;
    -the efforts made to raise issues with taxpayers in real time;
    -the globalization of tax administration in key areas such as transfer pricing
    -cooperation in tax administration with Tax treaty partners, including competent authority proceedings and the elimination of double taxation;
    -the use of arbitration in international tax disputes, including the arbitration provisions in the newly signed protocol to the US-France Income Tax Treaty;
    -the evolution of international exchange of information practices
