Location: Club Confair, 54, rue Laffitte 75009 Paris

Social Capital in the Workplace presented by Mark Catchlove - Herman Miller UK
Social capital is a term originating in residential developments to describe an instinctive sense of community. This community is built on strong relationships between similar groups of people (bonding) and people of different backgrounds (bridging).
We applied this concept to organisations and measured the levels of bridging (across the hierarchy) and bonding (within teams) social capital in 3 companies. Here we reveal the results and highlight the physical design aspects that can help develop a strong workplace community
Mark has specialised in working with the design community. He has delivered more than 60 seminars with a total of more than 700 attendees. The companies he has run individual seminars for include: Goldman Sachs, HSBC, Reuters, RIBA, RIAS, Grimshaws, Microsoft, BBC, AIG, Shell, MOD.
