    Briefing on French Privacy Law
    I.  Senators present new French Privacy Bill.
    Part one of the briefing will consist in a presentation by Senator Yves Détraigne and Senator Anne-Marie Escoffierof a proposed law on privacy containing new provisions on IP addresses, data breaches, cookies, and the sanctioning power of the CNIL.  The proposed law is the outgrowth of a report published by Senators Détraigne and Escoffier in May on privacy in the context of digital memories.  The presentation will be made in French, followed by Q&A
    II.  Debriefing from Madrid.
    The second half of the meeting will consist in a "Madrid debriefing" by CNIL director of international affairs Florence Raynal. Ms. Raynal will provide a summary of the key conclusions of the international meeting of data protection authorities, which occurred in Madrid earlier this month. 
    The Monde recently published an article and interview of Alex Türk discussing the important Madrid meeting.
