  • Benjamin Franklin Award Gala Dinner

    June 17 2009, 19:30 - 19:30
Location: Le Grand InterContinental Hotel Paris

The Benjamin Franklin dinners began in 1895, one year after AmCham's founding, and were used to honor illustrious members and non-members whose actions had benefited AmCham or the American business community.  Medals of Honor have been awarded since 1928, and in 1989 AmCham created a regular awards dinner to honor the CEO of a major company or a public figure promoting Franco-American business.  Recent honorees have included the CEOs of American Express, IBM, Euro Disney, JPMorgan, France Telecom, Ford, Axa, United Technologies and General Electric, as well as US Ambassadors Pamela Harriman and Felix Rohatyn, Pierre Méhaignerie (Minister of Justice) and Anne d'Ornano (founder of the Deauville American Film Festival).

Reserve seats  for you or your company or a table at AmCham's annual gala dinner on June 17, which will mark the culmination of the 2009 meeting of the French American Business Council (FABC).  We will be honoring Fred Smith (FedEx) and Maurice Levy (Publicis Groupe) with our Medal of Honor for their work in promoting trans-Atlantic economic relations as Co-Chairs of the FABC.

The event will take place in the magnificent ballroom of the Grand Hotel Intercontinental starting at 19:30.  Seating is limited to 400, so please reserve now (amchamfrance@amchamfrance.org; tel. 01 56 43 45 67).  Cost is €250 per person with a discount for tables of eight (€1800).  (Formal invitations will be sent shortly to AmCham member CEOs or principal contacts.)

The FABC was created in 1998 on the initiative of U.S. Ambassador to France, Felix Rohatyn, and French Ambassador to the U.S., François Bujon de l’Estang.  It has served as a forum to openly and dynamically exchange ideas on improving French-American economic relations and enjoys the strong support of the French and American governments.  Meetings have been held on a regular basis in France or the US.  This year's meeting is coordinated with the Paris Air Show and, aside from the AmCham gala, FABC CEOs will be participating in events with President Sarkozy and Prime Minister Fillon.  AmCham will welcome numerous prominent CEOs of French and US firms at the gala.

Please join us for this event, which directly supports AmCham's mission to promote trans-Atlantic economic relations.FABC membership is open to any prominent company interested in its mission.
