• AmCham Insights - TTIP: Where Are We Heading? What Is The Road To Success?

    March 02 2016, 18:00 - 20:00
Location: AmCham France, 77 rue de miromesnil 75008 Paris

Bilateral direct investment between the United States and the European Union constitutes the most intertwined, cross-border investment relationship in the world. The combined economies account for $34 trillion in GDP (nearly half of the world’s output) and more than one-third of all global trade flows involve U.S. or EU entities.

But these aren’t new revelations. After many years of knocking this idea around,  policymakers decided to launch the TTIP negotiations in 2013. In 2016, what is the roadmap ahead? What is the road to success? And, perhaps most importantly, will TTIP live up to its promise?

We are pleased to invite you to our AmCham Insights with trade expert Daniel J. Ikenson, Director of Cato Institute’s Herbert A. Stiefel Center for Trade Policy Studies,  in discussion with Nick Vinocur, Senior Political Correspondant for Politico, on 2 March.

Ikenson has authored dozens of papers on various aspects of trade policy, focusing his research on bilateral and multilateral trade agreements and institutions; globalization; U.S. manufacturing issues; and trade politics.

Nick Vinocur is a politics reporter for Politico in France. Before joining Politico, Nick spent seven years as a general assignment reporter for Reuters news in Paris, Stockholm and London.

This free event is open to AmCham members and their guests.
Guests are welcome to stay for a light cocktail reception following the discussions.
