This Working Committee safeguards U.S. firms' business interests as France reforms its broadcasting and telecom laws in the light of internal policies and EU Directives. Subjects include extending broadcasting regulation to non-linear programming, technological and service neutrality, legislation on "television of the future," fiber-to-the-home projects, consumer protection for cable and broadband subscribers, and privacy issues.

Roundtable on the "Revision of the 1995 Privacy Directive" and its implications for business
On June 10, the New Media, IT and Privacy working committee held a roundtable on the the future amendments to the 1995 European Data Protection Directive, and what these changes mean for business. Guest speakers Florence Raynal, Head of the International Division for the French Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL) and Christian Pardieu, Head of Privacy Policy for GE in Europe, shared their points of view regarding the key features that we are likely to see in the revised Directive.
